Track Day Prep: Getting Your Car to and from Wild Horse Pass / Podium Club / Inde Motorsports Ranch
Track days start winning (or losing) in your driveway. Here’s a crisp plan that keeps you on time, on torque, and out of stress.

Plan your hardware, load method, and paddock routine before you leave. This checklist minimizes downtime and protects your car, your trailer, and your day.
Pack like a pro
Safety & tools: helmet, torque wrench (with your lug size), jack + stands, breaker bar, gloves, fluids (brake oil, engine oil, coolant/water), funnel, nitrile gloves, rags.
Tires & brakes: spare set (if applicable), inflator, gauge, chalk for marking wheel movement, pad wear gauge.
Tie-downs: 4× rated straps, 2× axle straps or wheel nets, e-track fittings (if enclosed), 2× chocks.
Admin: printed registration/tech, fuel plan (nearby station hours), track map, wristbands if pre-issued.
Load smart
Empty the car: loose floor mats, jacks, parts, and totes out.
Low car? Winch it on slowly; use ramp extensions.
Balance: target 10–15% tongue weight; check wheel clearance and splitter/diffuser protection.
Tighten straps evenly, opposing angles; re-check after 5–10 miles.
At the track
Park in paddock nose-out. Chalk a tire, re-torque lugs, check pressures hot vs. cold.
Keep straps/coils organized so you’re not tripping in the pit.
Cool down lap + fan time before loading to protect rotors/pads.
The ride home
Inspect hot hubs and tires with a gloved hand; look for uneven heat.
Re-torque lug nuts; re-tighten straps after leaving the track.

Track days start winning (or losing) in your driveway.
